Book it as soon as possible, as they can get pretty full and busy. If you want to have a little fancy evening meal, you can then book a sumptuous dinner in any of the speciality restaurants onboard with an additional cover charge on top of your bill. Here are the ports of call for the British Isles cruise that I did with Princess Cruises. I joined the Royal Princess and embarked on my 6-day cruise from Dublin to Edinburgh. Your British Isles cruise will take you to England, Ireland, Northern Ireland, France, Scotland and fabled lands beyond. Encounter age-old traditions during a performance from the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo.

In Dublin, get a taste of true pub “craic” — an Irish term that equates to an atmosphere of fun, entertainment and good company. Used to build Buckingham Palace and St. Paul’s Cathedral, the stone extracted from Portland’s quarries has changed history. But there’s more to the city than it’s commodities. Cruise the British Isles to investigate the mysteries of Stonehenge, and learn about the grape-to-glass process at Langham Wine Estate.

Explore castles and countrysides on a UK and Ireland cruise

Visit Liverpool to walk in the footsteps of a beloved boyband, and head to a local pub to hear the boys at their best. Cruise the British Isles for an evening of Irish song and dance in Dublin, or watch the Edinburgh Military Tattoo assemble bands, bagpipes and drums for a soul-stirring show. Between the chandeliers and tapestries, step into luxury when you visit the British Isles. Cruise to Dublin and parade through the 13th-century halls of the city’s fortress.

Ships

Visit the British Isles to see Scotland's Edinburgh and Eilean Donan Castles, Ireland's Blarney Castle and the royal Windsor Castle in England. We did walking tours run by a local in both Guernsey and Cobh; found online. What to do in Greenock and South Queensferry depends a lot on when you are traveling. If you are there in August during the Tattoo, then I would highly recommend going to the Tattoo.

With Princess®, feel like royalty amidst noble landscapes. There are many ports to visit across the British Isles, from Holyhead in Wales, to Lerwick in the remote part of Scotland, to bustling Belfast in Northern Ireland. Fortunately, the British-isles cruise ports are a combination of both urban and rural destinations, so you can choose whatever suits your cruise style.

The delightful treats, food and drinks are just within your reach in every corner of the ship. Everything is made fresh on board by the skilled hands of the chefs that work tirelessly to deliver these yummy delectable delights onboard. All the main meals are included in the price of your cruise, and that is pretty much the majority of the restaurants onboard. I was super delighted with this offer and excited to experience everything first-hand.

If you like the idea of cruising, but also like your getaways to be quiet, this could be the perfect choice. Cruising on the UK Coastline definitely beats being stuck in a traffic jam on the motorway. If you’re exploring the UK by road, you’ll soon find out how busy it gets, how frustrating it can be being stuck in jams, and how inconvenient it can be having to find motorway services. Even trains can be busy, delayed, and sometimes not running at all.

As a first-time cruiser, I had a mix of emotions and excitement not knowing what to expect. I find it so convenient to ease me into cruising because it is one of the popular cruises from UK. The British Isles are composed of Great Britain and Ireland and little tiny islands dotted around the Celtic Sea, the Irish Sea and the English Channel.
